Books for Children: “The Traprock Center for Peace and Justice has awarded $1,000 to the Orange Public Libraries to purchase children’s books on the themes of world peace, empathy, friendship, immigration, diversity and environment…Last year, the Traprock Center made a similar donation to the Greenfield Public Library that was used to purchase children’s books on the themes of peace, social justice, conflict resolution and nature.” traprock.org/childrens-books-collaborative/
Trees for Vietnam:
“Over the last year, Traprock Director Pat Hynes has spearheaded an effort to raise $10,000 to plant 10,000 trees and seedlings in the Dong Son commune of Vietnam,” an area severely affected by US spraying of toxic Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. Thanks to fundraisers and contributions, $12,000 was raised, all of which has gone to the local tree planting effort.
