WLOE newsletter November 2012
Greetings to old friends and new visitors,
After a long pause, we again present an English-language e-newsletter, at a critical time. Super-storm Sandy is proving a turning point in political climate change denial in the US, at great cost. Meanwhile, a presidential campaign that has ignored this issue, along with many others, is in its final days. We present some women's voices in the US on both themes, plus a film tip -- for free on-line until Nov. 6th, and more.
Yours for peace and justice for all (the natural world included).
Anna Gyorgy, English editor.

See this film now! Witness: Living Downstream
Welcome to a new film, years in the making, based on the book of the same name: "Living Downstream" by biologist Dr. Sandra Steingraber. Now in a new edition, it one of the first read and reviewed in preparing for this website project. Currently she is very involved in defending her home region in New York State against hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") for 'natural' gas. Steingraber is also a cancer survivor, and this 47+ minute film tells the story of environmental dangers and the need for what she calls "environmental human rights." Until Nov. 6 the film can be seen for free on-line: more
